Tooth Extraction

If you have doubts about whether tooth extraction is really necessary, first come for a consultation where we will assess the condition of your teeth. There may still be a possibility to preserve your tooth. We believe in a conservative approach and extract a tooth only when there is an undeniable need and when other measures would no longer be effective.

Unfortunately, we constantly encounter situations where patients are offered tooth extraction even though there is still a possibility to preserve it. Therefore, at our clinic we make every effort to ensure teeth are extracted only when truly necessary. Whenever possible, we will always offer the possibility of tooth preservation.

However, there are situations where there is no possibility of leaving the tooth or it is even harmful to health, in which case tooth extraction becomes unavoidable. In such cases, we follow a conservative approach, meaning that the tooth is extracted as gently as possible while preserving as much surrounding tissue as possible.

In other words, the tooth is removed, but the bone is preserved.
To achieve this, we use minimally invasive tooth extraction techniques combined with ultrasonic technology. The procedure is atraumatic: the tooth is carefully divided into smaller sections and removed using ultrasonic instruments, allowing the surrounding bone to remain intact. This approach often makes it possible to restore the missing tooth with a dental implant later, without the need for additional bone grafting procedures.

Wisdom tooth extraction

Wisdom teeth have to be extracted for various reasons:

  • They do not fit in the dental arch.
  • They erupt crookedly because human jaws have been decreasing in the course of evolution due to changed diet.
  • Inflammations of the tooth and surrounding tissues develop due to difficulty cleaning.
  • For orthodontic or other reasons.

The process of wisdom tooth extraction can vary; sometimes the tooth is removed very easily, while sometimes the process takes longer. The healing stage can also vary depending on the position of the wisdom teeth in the mouth.

Modern conservative extraction techniques allow maximum protection of surrounding tissues and ensure faster healing. Timely removal of problematic wisdom teeth can prevent more serious complications and preserve overall oral health.

Tooth extraction with ultrasound

We approach this procedure very responsibly, always taking a panoramic X-ray and, when needed, a 3D scan, and we prepare for all possible scenarios. For both simple and more complex tooth extractions we use ultrasonic equipment. Using ultrasound, the tooth is loosened from the socket with light vibrating movements, allowing it to be removed more easily and with less force.

Due to less trauma, patients usually experience less pain and swelling after the procedure.

Because the procedure is less traumatic, patients typically experience a smoother recovery, with less swelling and faster healing. It is one of the most advanced tooth extraction techniques available, allowing the procedure to be performed with greater precision, safety, and comfort.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

We answer the most commonly asked questions from patients.

The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia, so the extraction itself is painless. The patient may only feel pressure or vibration, but not pain. After the procedure, mild discomfort or sensitivity may occur, which usually passes quickly. Medication and clear recommendations are provided to make healing as easy as possible. Most patients consider this method more comfortable than traditional extraction.

The main difference is precision and tissue preservation. Traditional extraction uses more mechanical force, while ultrasound allows the tooth to be removed gradually. This reduces bone damage risk and postoperative discomfort. The recovery after ultrasonic extraction is usually easier and faster.

Due to less trauma, healing is usually faster and easier. Swelling and pain are less than after traditional extraction. The patient returns to normal daily life sooner. However, it is very important to follow the doctor's recommendations, avoid physical exertion, maintain oral hygiene and protect the wound area. Proper care ensures smooth healing.
